The Civil Engineering program creates professionals capable to manage, supervise, design, make a budget and build construction of civil engineering, from the project conception to the end of the construction, optimizing the resource management, being conscious of the global environment, the rules and laws that apply, all with professional ethics


  • The Civil Engineer performs his professional activity in all those institutions that manage, design, construct, supervise, operate and maintain civil works whether private, federal, parastatal and decentralized.

  • Teaching and research.

  • Manages companies related to Civil Engineering.


  • Full Baccalaureate in Physical Sciences - Mathematics, Technological Baccalaureate, General or Sole Baccalaureate.

  • Pass the Admission Exam that consists of four evaluations: health, knowledge, psychometric and EXANI II.


  • Ease to organize and direct team work.

  • Enjoy outdoor activities, good adaptation for all kinds of environmental conditions and physical resistance.

  • Ability to handle abstract concepts.

The graduate of the Civil Engineering degree will be able to:

  • Apply the knowledge of basic sciences and engineering to the solution of concrete identified problems, such as planning, design, construction, supervision, maintenance and operation of civil works.

  • Create, innovate, assimilate and adapt new technologies.

  • The ability to predict and control the ecological, social and economic impacts of the projects.

  • Express yourself correctly in oral, written and graphic form, as well as a foreign language.

  • Coordinate groups of specialists in different areas.


The Civil Engineering program prepares students so that after 5 years after graduation, they can:

  • Work as a Civil Engineer in management, design, budget, construction, supervision, operation and / or maintenance of civil works.

  • Perform postgraduate studies in branches of Engineering, teaching or administration.

  • Practice teaching at a higher level.

  • Manage companies related to Civil Engineering.


The following objectives have been set considering the general aspects that students must reach at the end of their academic formation in each of the specified areas:


Know and apply the construction procedures, budgeting, supervision and maintenance of urban, industrial and infrastructure works based on the proposed project.


Analyze and design concrete and steel structures under the current regulations.


Determine mechanical and hydraulic key properties of soils and rocks, for their use by the applicable theories in construction.


Understand the behavior of pressurized and free-surface flows in addition to the hydrological cycle components, applying it to the design of works through which an efficient use of hydraulic resources is achieved.


Manage Civil Engineering projects, from its formulation to its conclusion, optimizing the management of resources, being conscious of the environment and current regulations.


1.- Identify, formulate, plan and apply knowledge of basic sciences and engineering sciences to problems related to Civil Engineering, deciding the best alternative solution through the analysis and interpretation of the results.

2.- Analyze, apply, synthesize and design Civil Engineering processes, resulting in projects developed according to the needs of different sectors of society, optimizing best practices and technological advances in a framework of sustainable and sustainable development.

3.- To be a leader in the development and management of interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research, experimentation and / or project design teams in the areas of Structures, Construction, Hydraulics, Planning and Geotechnics; that allows them to analyze and interpret data obtaining concrete and adequate information to establish conclusions with Civil Engineering criteria.

4.- Effectively communicate their ideas in the tasks of their profession, using the appropriate terminology and the new information and communication technologies (ICTs). Expressing themselves correctly in oral, written and graphic form, as well as in a foreign language.

5.- Understand and recognize their ethical and professional responsibility in relevant situations in the Civil Engineering practice, which consider the impact of solutions in the local, global, economic, environmental and social context.

6.- Continuously update your knowledge and improve your skills in Civil Engineering adapting to the changing requirements of the context.

7.- Join work teams, where strategic planning is designed and implemented in tasks related to Civil Engineering.


Reason and apply knowledge of mathematics, science and engineering to problems related to civil engineering, determining the best solution by analyzing and interpreting the results.
